![]() ![]() Give us Lightroom/Photoshop users what we want – the ability to use HDR RAW to scan negatives into POSITIVES. I upgraded to a new version of Silverfast and went with Studio SE because I wanted to be able to scan my negatives as DNG (I also purchased additional licenses for my school). Please, please make some sort of change to accommodate those of us who want to use HDR RAW to then edit in Lightroom or Photoshop. Those who want to scan negatives as *negatives* can use the "positive" scan, as currently both of these options DO THE SAME THING with HDR RAW. Or maybe, just maybe, selecting "negative" means we want to invert our file into a positive, just as happens in all other scans besides HDR RAW. Give us the option to scan our negatives into positive files when using HDR RAW. ![]() Unfortunately, that then means every slider for tone adjustment acts in *reverse*. And currently the only way to work with an HDR RAW scan is to reverse the curve (black = white, white = black). I appreciate how LSI staff might use nothing but their own products, but Lightroom and Photoshop are used by a large percentage of photographers, including those who scan film. positive? And why have non-HDR RAW scans of "negatives" actually produce a positive? If you open your HDR RAW images in Studio SE, do you work with them as negatives, or as positives? Because locking the rest of us into a format that only works well in Studio SE makes no sense.įor those of use that use Lightroom (or Camera RAW in Photoshop), keeping the HDR RAW scan as a negative is a major annoyance. If that's the case, why have an option for negative vs. What has previously been described as proper behavior by Silverfast to keep a negative as a negative makes no sense. I'm pretty sure I'm not alone in shooting negatives to then produce positive prints! ![]() I've been shooting negatives for years, and every time I do, I know that my final output will be a positive – whether darkroom or digital print. The whole menagerie of service and cache files, localization packs, PPC-code, and the remnants of apps that have previously been uninstalled. So, what types of files are detected by AppZapper? Actually, it’s all of them. If you are one of those users who install a swarm of apps and forget about their existence in a short while, you will find the ‘hit list’ extremely useful. Alternatively, it is possible to use the traditional search bar to locate a necessary app. Furthermore, to accelerate their discovery, the apps can be sorted by name, date, and size. All apps installed on a Mac are listed in the utility’s window. The full view mode makes the deletion of unwanted apps a lot easier. Once in the folder, you can locate and select the necessary app, which can be dragged into the AppZapper.Īnother way of using the uninstaller is to enable the full view mode by clicking the button located in the top right corner of the window. To find an application that is no longer needed, open your Applications folder by using the Spotlight search. Just click on the Zap button and move the files scattered in distant directories to the Trash. Afterwards, the necessary files can be removed with a single press of a button. Those Mac owners who want to retain useful log details or caches can uncheck boxes next to the files listed in the window to prevent their deletion. But there’s more: AppZapper will inform the user of file sizes and show their aggregate weight. The uninstaller will momentarily show the litany of files associated with the app. “So what happens after the app is dragged into the window?”, you ask. A small, blank window features an inscription that reads “drop apps here.” Whenever a user feels like deleting an app, they can do so by simply dragging it into the window. ![]() Upon launch, the app greats a user with a no-nonsense interface that makes it easier to navigate its capabilities. Let’s take a closer look at the uninstaller’s interface and main features. The utility provides Mac users with a convenient visual representation of all apps installed on the computer, thereby allowing them to quickly locate the ‘unwanted guests.’ The uninstaller requires little to no effort to use, which makes it especially attractive for those Mac users who fall on the far end of the tech literacy spectrum. Whenever, you want to delete a piece of software because of its limited functionality or some other reason, use the drag-and-drop feature of the utility. Instead of finding out whether an app has a native uninstaller or manually removing countless folders and cache files that go with it, try a simple solution provided by AppZapper. The use of the utility obviates the need for going through the motions of blunt uninstalling procedures designed by Apple. This is especially important because garbage left behind by apps that have not been properly removed can gobble up the system resources, thereby decreasing the performance of your Mac.ĪppZapper is a neat utility for uninstalling apps on Mac computers. As the name suggests, the software will suddenly and rapidly obliterate any app without requiring too much of technical knowledge on the part of the user. The aim of this article is to introduce you to a special utility for deleting apps that have fallen out of favor- AppZapper. Luckily, there is a large variety of free and paid software that can assist Mac users in cleaning unwanted apps and mess associated with them. Therefore, it is always wise to leave the task of removing applications from Apple’s macOS platform to specifically-designed uninstallers. Deleting innumerable files accompanying a majority of applications can be a little disconcerting for both novice and experienced Mac owners. Whereas some applications can be removed in one fell swoop without leaving a trace, others require a different approach. Therefore, whenever an alternative application nested higher in the user hierarchy of software than the previously used one appears, there emerges a need for removing the unwanted utility. Other Crazy Taxi-style minigames pop up, like “destroy the delivery truck” or “repossess cars whose owners are overdue on their payments.”Ī typical AAA studio move would be to force all of these things to move at a snail’s pace requiring players to manually go to the building to purchase it amid lengthy load times. At that point you can keep blowing stuff up, go tackle a story mission, or buy another property in a few seconds by bringing up the world map and selecting it. Based on how many business you shake down (or retail/investment properties you acquire) you’ll net an income, which kind of just pops up periodically on-screen as a bonus. I think what I dig most about Shakedown is the relaxed emphasis on doing whatever you want. Not every bit of the map is utilized to its fullest, but it does have less of a sense of déjà vu than Retro City due to the aforementioned aesthetic makeover. This is the kind of free-spirited experience where you can roam around randomly and do whatever you want (and you can, as “free roam mode” returns!) and not get bored during short sessions, or opt for more lengthy goal-oriented playthroughs as you work through the campaign and side missions. Shakedown‘s overworld is approximately three times bigger than Retro City and it shows. Brian didn’t do everything alone: amid the great work by many other designers, the soundtrack slaps. Matt “Norrin Radd” Creamer’s soundtrack is restrained yet delightful, with a synthwave focus that isn’t cloying or, again, too referential. Brian makes this world feel alive despite the old-school feel, with swaying trees and vibrant visuals, and it all looks fantastic on Vita (hell yes, one of the last Vita games). Hawaii makes for one killer location, with plenty of water motifs to take advantage of on top of the lush, beautiful vegetation. ![]() It’s more social commentary (“I’ll get you a spit bucket” for when you toss back a gamer energy drink for a TV commercial), and fewer memes (if that bothered you in the first place I thought it actually fit). Watching the oafish lead get thwarted constantly is another treat. In fact, there aren’t a lot of direct references at all, as the creator wanted to have Shakedown stand on its own more than its predecessor. There aren’t entire missions dedicated to Batman villain Joker or myriad pop culture references thrown in your face. Thematically it’s a bit different compared to Retro City Rampage. As always in the video game world, crime pays. As the CEO of an old media-oriented business declares “streaming a fad,” his video rental stores and other over-the-top Blockbuster-esque models are no longer cutting it. Shakedown opens with a different kind of “hero”: an aging, balding, out-of-touch man having a breakdown. Shakedown: Hawaii (3DS, PC, PS4, Switch, Vita ) You can add Provinciano’s follow-up, Shakedown: Hawaii, to that lengthy list of successes above. There’s Eric Barone of Stardew Valley fame, Celeste‘s Matt Thorson, Bertil Hörberg, and of course, Brian Provinciano, who gave us the GTA-inspired (the original GTA) Retro City Rampage, among many others. Master key systems also allow for simple rekeys, and a reduced need to perform them. Moreover, their flexibility allows you to add stores or additional openings to the system at any time. The biggest benefit of master systems is the ability to have controlled access to certain openings with one key (no more jumbled key rings). What Are The Benefits to Master Key Systems? Master key systems are very flexible and can be set up however you need. It’s important to note that the example outlined above is just one way a master system can be set up. Most key system vendors (including us) don’t recommend cutting these keys due to the extreme security risk. Typically, these keys are owned by an officer of the company and are kept under tight lock and key. If (and that’s a big if) you wanted a key to open all of your stores, you could cut a great grand master key. The highest level of a master system is the Great Grand Master. With a Grand Master system, you can convert the jumbled key ring into a single Grand Master key that will access each door in all stores assigned to his region. Your District Manager currently carries a jumbled key ring with keys to each store in his assigned district. The master key would go to the manager, one sub-master would go to the shift leads, and the other sub-master would go to other employees. This setup would require a master key system with two sub-masters under it. You want the location manager to have access to all of the doors, your shift lead to have access to the front door, receiving door, and merchandise case, and your other employees to only have access to the merchandise case. Assume your store has four main locks: the front door, receiving door, office door, and merchandise case. The most basic setup is a Master and Sub-Master system. To understand what these levels are, take a look at the summarized example on the right. There will always be a master and sub-master level, but depending on how you want the system set up you may/may not have a grand or great grand master. There are a number of ways that you can set up a master key system, along with four possible levels: This means, if you only want managers to have access to the cash office, it’s easy to accommodate. Master key systems allow different levels of access to each lock. However, a master key system comes with a host of other features that can benefit your facility as well. This way, your DM and/or after-hours vendors only have to keep track of one master key that will give them access to your facilities. The short answer to this question is a master key system this system will enable you to have one key that can operate multiple locks. What’s the easiest way to simplify our key system that will reduce the number of keys to manage? Our District Managers and after-hours vendors are having a hard time keeping track of keys to all of the locations they’re responsible for. ![]() ![]() ![]() The speed of the characters is equaled by the tempo of the matches themselves. Whether you’re firing off rounds with an SMG, or getting up close and personal with a shotgun, each weapon feels responsive and accurate, which is a must given the pace at which both your character and your enemies, zip around the map. Healing and armor repair is set to the face buttons, and that’s about as complicated as it gets. Aiming is mapped to the right stick, movement on the left, with the right trigger taking care of firing your weapon. The controls are also very intuitive, especially so if you have ever played a twin-stick shooter before. The top-down view being used here eliminates that issue, and I found myself way more willing to engage in combat encounters with other players because of the added visibility. The battle royale genre has become an increasingly crowded space, with many titles doing little to carve out a unique identity. It’s great to see the developers lean so heavily into the animal warfare concept. Additionally, if like me, you are a great lover of dad jokes and puns, prepare to be delighted by the wealth of animal-related quips on offer. The animal theme also extends further than just the avatars you can select from. Well, that would be the case were they not running around unleashing volleys of bullets at one another. each of these critters is presented in such a way that they wouldn’t look out of place on a kid’s Saturday morning cartoon. Players can choose from a selection of animal-themed avatars, include cats, foxes, and bears, and monkeys – I swear I was also killed by what looked like a unicorn at one point, which, as expected, was rather embarrassing. What really helps to elevate Super Animal Royale is its style and art direction, which is beyond adorable, and often hilarious. Duo and squad playlists are also there for those who want to team up with friends or make use of the randomized matchmaking. Once you’re suitably tooled up, in typical battle royale fashion, you’ll spend the remainder of the match hunting down your competitors until only one of you remains. ![]() Weapons selection is surprisingly varied, from Gatling guns to sniper rifles and crazier variants that tie into the animal theme, such as throwable skunk tails that let off toxic gas.
